Gokyo Valley Trekking | Gokyo Kalapathar Trek

The Gokyo Valley Lake trekking is a fantastic trek, visiting all of the high valleys of the Khumbu Region with extra time at Gokyo to explore the upper valley. The valley is far less crowded than the Everest trail. The valley has only one permanent settlement, the rest of the time time the valley is taken up with summer pastures.

This Gokyo Valley Trek start from Lukla. The journey to the valley would not be complete without climbing up to Gokyo Ri (pass) from the top of the pass There is probably nowhere else in the Khumbu that provides such splendid mountain views including The Ngozumpa Glacier Many of the peaks are at an altitude of above 8000m such as Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu which are clearly visible from Gokyo Ri situated above Gokyo Lake. Our return journey takes us to Tengboche monastery, the most important center of Buddhism in the area, before descending to Lukla and a flight back to Kathmandu the next day.
