Trekking in Nepal

Nepal is considered as a trekkers' paradise. One can have experience of trekking on the beaten trails to isolated outposts of the Himalayan regions. This region consists of twenty two of the world's thirty one highest snow capped mountains and covers one third (35%) of the land area of the country. The highest peak in the world like Mt. Everest (8848m) and many other eight thousand high mountains are situated in this region of Nepal. Some of the Nepal's most beautiful animals like Snow Leopard, Danphe (Impejanus Lophophorus) the national bird of Nepal, the Musk deer and plant life also can be seen here. Trekking can be as easy or as difficult as you want it to be. The range of treks varies from short gentle hikes through terraced foothills to lengthy expeditions to Mt. Everest's summit. A well organized trekking may provide a special opportunity to walk through Rhododendrons blooming forest or explore lively culture in Nepal. Similarly, you may stumble across the number of interesting events, nature and lifestyle during your trekking period.

In the interior of the country follows age-old foot trails which meander through the panoramic riverbank, terraced field and the forested ridges connects picturesque hamlets and mountain villages. Whatever your level of fitness or experience is, you'll find an adventure of life time that is waiting for you in Nepal.
Trekking Permit :
For trekking in the Everest, Annapurna, Langtang and Rara regions, a trekking permit is not required, but you will need a National park / Conservation permit and Trekking Registration Certificate (TRC). However, the following places do require a trekking permit.
1) Lower Dolpo, Kanchenjunga, Gaurishankar and Lamabagar - Equivalent to US$ 10 per person per week. However, permit fee for Chekampar and Chunchet of Gorkha district (Sirdibas-Lhokpa-Chumling-Chekampar-Nile-Chule) has been fixed at US$ 35 per person for 08 days during September to November and US$ 25 per person per 08 days during December to August.
2) Manaslu US$ 70 per person per week and US$ 10 per person for each extra day during September - November and US$ 50 per person per week and US$ 7 per person per each extra day during December- August.
3) Humla- US$ 50 per person for the first seven days and US$ 7 per day thereafter.
4) Upper Mustang and Upper Dolpo - US$ 500 per person of the first 10 days and US$ 50 per person per day thereafter.
Note: The above mentioned trekking areas must be undertaken only through Registered Trekking Agencies from Government of Nepal. Entrance fee is levied for visiting to all National Parks and Conservation Areas. There is no charge for children under 10 years.
Trekking Equipments:
When selecting your personal items, keep in mind the number of days you'll be camping, the time of year and the altitude. We advise our clients to bring these items:
Down Sleeping Bag, Down Jacket ,Long sleeved shirt ,Jumper or fleecy jacket - shirts Trekking shoes or boots ,Comfy shoes for around the camp ,Mountain trekking boots, Polypropylene/wool socks Light cotton socks for under wool socks ,Rucksack Sun hat, Woolen hat Gloves, Sun block for lips, Goggles or sunglasses, Long underwear, Insulated pants, Nylon windbreaker, Nylon wind pants, Water bottle, Sewing kit, Medical & first aid kit, Flash light, Batteries and bulbs, Swiss army knife Towel and toiletries
Everest Region
For many their journey to Nepal would not be complete without a glimpse of the highest mountain on Earth. For some it will be enough to view Everest from the Kathmandu valley rim on a clear day, it is also possible to sit in the comfort of a plane seat for the experience.
Annapurna Region
Annapurna region is one of the best areas for trekking in Nepal- offering a variety of excellent treks of all grades and styles. According to a recent survey by Modern Maturity (USA) Annapurna region has been recognized as one of the world's best trekking trails. More than 50,000 tourists annually visit this area.
Langtang Region
This region is considered one of the most popular narrow mountain valleys at the base of central Himalaya. Located north of the Kathmandu Valley, the route goes through traditional and ethnic villages and virgin forests on the way to the peaks of Langtang-Lirung.
