Trekking goals in eastern Nepal include an eastern approach to Everest, the remote base camp of Makalu, and the area near Kanchanjanga. There is endless variety in this part of the country. Most ethnic groups are represented and many villages, such as Dhankuta, Khandbari and Bhojpur are large, prosperous and clean.
The area has hot rice-growing districts and also encompasses the cooler tea-growing region of Illam.

Makalu Base Camp Trek
This trek takes up deep into the eastern Himalayas, providing some of Nepal's most unseen and amazing scenery.From Tumlingtar by walking north, up the Arun river, Sedwa and Num, crossing Shipton La (4127m) into upper Barun Khola valley for a close look at Makalu(8475 m) and chamlang (7290 m).
