Gokyo Valley Trekking | Gokyo Kalapathar Trek

The Gokyo Valley Lake trekking is a fantastic trek, visiting all of the high valleys of the Khumbu Region with extra time at Gokyo to explore the upper valley.The valley is far less crowded than the Everest trail. The valley has only one permanent settlement, the rest of the time time the valley is taken up with summer pastures.An amazation panorama from Gokyo Ri is better then from Kalapatthar.After first lake to fifth lak area is preserved as Ramsar. After the Gokyo trekkers have oppertunity for thrilling experience chola pass, biggest destination Everest Base Camp 5357 m & Kalapather view Point 5550m.

This Gokyo Valley Trek start from Lukla. The journey to the valley would not be complete without  climbing up to Gokyo Ri from the top of the pass There is probably nowhere else in the Khumbu that provides such splendid Mountain view including The Ngozumpa Glacier Many of the peaks are at an altitude of  above 8000m such as Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu which are clearly visible from Gokyo Ri situated above Gokyo Lake. From Gokyo to gokyo Ri top it takes 4 hours .Our return journey takes us to Tengboche monastery, the most important center of Buddhism in the area, in spring season trekkers can see / observe beautiful Rhododendron blooming in this area.before descending to Lukla and a flight back to Kathmandu the next day.

Note: During the trekking you will meet Yaks & Donkeys in that time please choose your safe place & wait them if nessary.

Day 1

Arrive Kathmandu airport Himalaya Arirang Trek represent picks up and drop to Hotel fresh and briefing for next day trip Gokyo Kalapather Everest Base Camp trekking important information .

Day 2

After morning drive to kathamndu airport Fly to Lukla (2804 meters) start Gokyo Kalapather Trekking to Phakding via Chaurikharka and Chhuplung(2610 meters).

Day 3

Trek From Phakding to Namche Bazaar Capital of sherpa via Jhorsalle after breakfast trekking start in the morning from Namche Bazaar you can see first glance of Mount Everest 3440 meters) 6 hours.

Day 4

Full day Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar after breakfast you can hike Khumbu largest village Khumjung village and Everest view hotel for view of Mt Everest Lhotse Amadablam and many more . Lunch at Khumjung and back to Namche

Day 5

Trek Namche bazaar to Dole 4,110 m after breakfast start trekking Kyangjuma uphill to Mong la descends to the Phorse thenga valley of Dudh Koshi (3680 meters) 5 hours.

Day 6

Trek to Mochermo after breakfast trekking passes through the middle of forest and offers the brilliant view of Cho Oyu (4470 meters). 5 hours.

Day 7

Trek from to Gokyo Lake via Ngozumpz glacier this trail is zigzag futher two hours climbing to Gokyo Ri from the Gokyo lake offers the spectacular panorama of Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Makalu and Cholatse (4790 meters) 6 hours.

Day 8

Trek to Gokyo Ri Early in the morning starting trek to Gokyo Ri and trekking down Gokyo you can enjoy the view of Gokyo Lake Everest and many snow capped Mountains . (5,357 meters) 5 hours. After lunch trek to Thaknak/Drangnag 4,7oo m crossing changeable glacier trail

Day 9

Trek from Thaknag to Dzonglha Trekking Starting to walk uphill about 4 hours for cho La pass (5420m). Cross Cho La and walk down hill to Dzongla village overnight4,830 m.better to start early in th e mooning because of stone falling trail before chola pas.

Day 10

Trek from Dzongla to Lubuche lunch camp also you have good chance to see Ama Dablam and Thamserku Chola tso Lake ,it takes 3 hours to Lobuche (4990m).

Day 11

Trek from Lubuche to Gorakshep 5,140 mThis is rocky moraine path the Khumbu glacier Gorakshep is located below Kala Pathhar (5545m) and Mt Pumori.(5180m 6 hours.Lunch at Gorekshep and hiking to Everest base camp 5,364 m and back to Gorakshep

Day 12

Trek from Gorakshep to Kalapather to PherucheToday early in the morning climb Kala Patthar and enjoy the spectacular view of mountain sun rising. From Kala Pathar you can see Mt Everest, Mt Pumori, Lingtren, Khumbetse, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku . (4250m)

Day 13

Trek from Pheruche to Tengboche to Namche Bazar today Trekking and Crossing villages, Buddhists monasteries, bridges and some waterfall (3440m).

Day 14

Trek from Namche to Lukla Today trekking trail passed through Rhododendron forest and pine forest and via sansa village. (2850m).

Day 15

Early morning Flight back from Lukla to Kathmandu pick up and transfer to hotel then sightseeing in Kathmandu heritage site ,Pashupatinath , Bouddha nath .Swoyambhu nath

Day 16

After breakfast free day for shopping and relax in the evening Himalaya Arirang Trek Represent drop you to airport for your onward flight to your destination.

    Requirement Equipments:

    • Lightweight walking boots & a pair of track shoes 
    • Guaranteed Waterproof & rainproof jacket with hood or a poncho.
    • Windproof, waterproof trousers are necessary on all treks going above 10.00ft.
    • A tracksuit useful for wearing in camp and in the tent.
    • 2 pair of loose fitting long shorts/ skirts.
    • Loose cotton pants, long sleeved –shirt is particularly suitable for avoiding sun burn.
    • A pair of gloves. Leather with lining and woolen are best.
    • 1 pair of sandals to wear in the cities and in camp.
    • 2 pairs of thin and 2 pair of thick woolen socks.
    • Down jacket, Woolen shirts and thick sweaters for winter December, January & February.
    • Duffle bag or kit bag to carry to gear while trekking.
    • Daypack: toilet items, camera, film towel, soap, a boot etc. 
    • Water bottle, sunglasses
    • 2-4 large plastic bags to separate clean clothes from dirty ones. 
    • Toiletries with small towels
