Helambu Valley Trekking

If you are not planning to add Helambu into your Langtang Valley itinerary it is possible to trek up to Helambu from the outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley.
This particular trek itinerary commences at Sundarijal (1350m) on the outskirts of The Kathmandu Valley, around an hour's drive from Kathmandu town. It is also possible to do this trek in reverse completing the Langtang trek first and finishing up at Melemche.
Helambu valley trekking is not to stressful but very scenic it is basically a loop that takes you through villages of varied ethnic groups, it also provides some great mountain views along the way. The go's through a surprising amount of old growth forest on the way where a lot of ancient rhododendron trees grace the trail. The best time for trekking in the Helambu Region is from October to May.

This trek in helambu is one of the finest short trek that one can go on, this part of the Himalayas. This one is for people wanting to have a close feel of Himalayan trekking in a short period of time.  During Helambu Valley Trekking you can see the best views of Lanagtang, Dorje Lakpa, Ganesh Himal and more. Helambu Valley Trekking is the best place to explore the flora and fauna of the Himalayan region as our route passing through the Langtang National park. During the Helambu Valley Trekking You can see various species of animals such as Himalayan Thar, Musk Deer,  ghoral and more.

Your Trekking to Helambu starts from Sundarijal,  about an hour's drive from Kathmandu. After an hour's walk, we enter Shivapuri National Park. Continuing along the Chisopani, Kutumsang, Thadepati and Sermathang, the trek ends at the Melamchi Pul Bazar in the Helambu region. The trek passes through dense forests with great Himalayan views and toward the end of the trip.you will also trek through some beautiful rice terraces and a number of splendid Buddhist monasteries.

Day 1

Arrival kathmandu airport pick up & Transfer to Hotel in Kathmandu (1350m)

Day 2

After breakfast full day Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu city overnight hotel.

Day 3

After breakfast drive to Sundarijal & start trekking to Chisopani (2300m).

Day 4

Trekking from Chisopani to Kutumsang (2446m) overnight mountain lodge.

Day 5

Trekking from Kutumsang to Thadepati (3650m) overnight mountain lodge.

Day 6

Trekking from Thadepati to Tarkeghyang (2560m) overnight mountain lodge.

Day 7

Trekking from Tarkeghyang to Sermathang (2,610m) overnight mountain lodge.

Day 8

Trekking from Sermathang to Malemchi Pul pick up & drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 9

Full day shopping & relax overnight hotel.

Day 10

Onward departure.

    • Down jacket, Woolen shirts and thick sweaters for winter December, January & February.
    • Duffle bag or kit bag to carry to gear while trekking.

    • 2-4 large plastic bags to separate clean clothes from dirty ones.
